Southfield and the Southfield DDA will be the first southeastern Michigan home to the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine as of the summer of 2016.
Michigan State University will team up with St. John Providence – Providence Park Hospital in Southfield to train up to 60 medical students each year. Some facility renovations will be completed at the Providence campus in Southfield as part of this project.
“This announcement by St. John Providence and Michigan State University highlights what we have built here in the Southfield DDA, strong employers in the education and healthcare industries,” said Southfield DDA Executive Director Al Aceves. “Our community looks forward to welcoming more of the best and brightest medical school students to work and live here in Southfield.”
